Today we will talk about the second video of Unesco with the theme ODS 2: zero hunger and sustainable agriculture.
My suggestion is that you play the video and then move on to the criticism I made.
I highlighted 3 points to show how they can be worked with children in the classroom.
3 VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS:
# 1 “In the kitchen you never speak Eca”
# 2 “The order here is nothing on”
# 3 70% of the food arriving at our table comes from family farming

# 1 In the kitchen you never talk “Eca”
I really liked this phrase used because we hear a lot about it from children. It is enough that they do not like the “face” of some food that already speak “Eca” without ever having tasted the same thing.
As bad as it may be, at home it’s hard enough for parents to deal with situations like this, trying to convince children to at least try. But I always suggest that this approach to food occurs in two situations that usually have a lot of success and quickly:
– AT HOME, IN THE PRESENCE OF FRIENDS: The child is very mirrored in the friends he likes and wants to share moments with them. The moment of feeding is one of them. Putting a coffee table or making a lunch for your children’s friends, is a good time to introduce some food that they do not like, for that they prove. Let them a little at ease, which naturally, without much fanfare, is easier for the child to experience. She will not prove why the father “sent” her, she will prove why she wanted to prove it . Do you see the difference?
– AT SCHOOL: in activities (fruit day, snack time, etc …) and also, because they are among friends, it is easier for children to feel stimulated to try these foods.
IMPORTANT: It is also important that adults take care not to pass on to children a prejudice with some food that the adult has, because it is not only the children who say “Eca” in the kitchen, adults also talk. And if you say “Eca”, they will speak equally.

# 2 “The order here is nothing on!”: Reducing waste on consumption and preparation.
Since, at the end, the child in front of the pot says, “Who wants more food?” This can generate an understanding that one has to eat everything. But what is this all ? It is an all too? Was there an exaggeration in the preparation or quantity placed on the plate?
“The order is that nothing on!” Refers to a conscious preparation and consumption, ie:
– With regard to preparation , assume that you will make enough meal amount for the people present, without there being, too much of the preparation done.
-And with regard to consumption, without putting much more food in the dish than can be consumed, avoiding throwing it away. It is important to emphasize this detail because, having a misunderstanding of what was said in the video, can contribute to “force” children to eat everything on the plate. This is a very common attitude and ends up causing future harm to the child, since he learns to eat much more than he needs to behave as a habit that generates obesity .
But that, too, does not mean that they do not need to learn what meal time is meal time , because they need to! If they do not, they will not eat anything or anything at the moment, and then they will eat biscuits, salty snacks, sweets … It is necessary to create the habit of mealtimes, without being offered at other times other foods ” “To suppress their hunger because they refused to eat at their times.

# 3 “70% of the food that comes to our table comes from family farming”
Here is a very interesting and quite confusing point for people to understand.
70% of the food that comes to our table comes from family farming, which consists of a family-managed production with predominantly family labor. On the contrary, access to organic food is still far from ideal.
But, I advise those interested to access the references cited for a better understanding of this subject so important to us.
And of course, accompany me, too, in the Sustainable and Human Being .
